PARISSA CHARGHI

Founder • Selecta • Visual Artist

Parissa Charghi is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist whose work spans Creative Direction, Graphic Design, curatorial practice, cultural production, and creative education. Based in Cologne, Germany, she has built a significant body of work over more than 15 years, shaped by her deep connection to music and global subcultures. Her design practice encompasses album artwork, record covers, full visual identity systems, merchandise, typography-led posters, and music video direction. Parissa collaborates closely with musicians, labels, and cultural institutions, known for her strong visual storytelling and commitment to authenticity.

As the Founder, Curator and Creative Lead of HEAVY FEELINGS, she established a platform where music, art, and culture intersect. The brand functions as a creative hub for emerging and established artists, producing events, collaborative projects, and cross-cultural initiatives. Through HEAVY FEELINGS, Parissa cultivates an international creative community rooted in diversity, innovation, and artistic integrity. Beyond her artistic practice, Parissa is committed to mentorship, education, and community development. She additionally works as a mentor, provides guest lectures, and leads workshops on topics such as creative direction and artist development.

Her work as a Vinyl Selector reflects the same intention and depth. Parissa curates an expansive range of sounds — from Reggae, Hip Hop, Jazz, Afrocentric rhythms, and Dub to electronic music, blending archival influences with contemporary energy exclusively from her personal record collection. Her sets function as narrative journeys where rhythm, drums, and cultural storytelling take center stage.

She has performed as an opening act for such as Kokoroko and Moses Yoofee Trio, bringing her distinct sonic language into live music contexts. Her work has also taken her to London, where she was invited to select records at Refuge Worldwide’s Jumbi Peckham sessions. As a core part of Refuge Worldwide, she acts as the main curator and host of the HF radio shows, shaping their musical direction.

Beyond the events and radio context, Parissa regularly shares her knowledge and musical perspective in listening sessions, creating intimate environments centered around sound and exchange. She also contributed to the “Viny Archive Sampling Residency” at the MARKK Museum in Hamburg, where she expanded on her approach to archival material, storytelling, and sonic research.

Across design, music, teaching, and curation, Parissa Charghi stands as a connector of communities and a builder of creative ecosystems, driven by authenticity, cultural resonance, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
