On 24 October, we celebrate four years of HEAVY FEELINGS at KING GEORG, returning to the place where the platform first began.
We’re bringing together an eclectic lineup of live performances, spoken word and an aftershow, bringing different musical practices and perspectives into the same room:
*MALIIIK (Berlin) is an uprising lyricist carving out his own space within contemporary German Hip Hop. His sound moves between soulful and jazzy textures, sharp writing, playful weirdness and pop appeal. Recent work with Berlin-based producer SAMON KAWAMURA continues to shape his distinctive sound, with his HEAVY FEELINGS debut also marking his first performance in Cologne.
BERNARD. (Düsseldorf) returns to HEAVY FEELINGS with his deep, distinctive voice and an intense live presence that has already made an impression at KING GEORG. Rooted in Oldschool and Underground Rap, his writing reaches into Jazz, Neo-Soul and R&B. For this anniversary, he will also share the stage with MALIIIK, with whom he has worked several times as part of the same creative circle.
SYDNEY LOWELL (Amsterdam) is a spoken word artist, poet and cultural organiser whose work moves between poetry, music and oral storytelling. Drawing from Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop and ancestral sound traditions, her writing touches on spirituality, social critique, love, growth and collective reflection. She is also founder of WE THE PEOPLE, an Amsterdam-based spoken word platform and collective.
For her performance, Sydney will be accompanied by OG SOUNDS (Arnhem) on bass and drums. Krefeld-born and Arnhem-based, his musical foundation reaches back to church and is shaped by rhythm, groove, Funk, Soul and R&B. This marks his HEAVY FEELINGS debut, bringing live instrumentation into direct dialogue with Sydney’s spoken word.
The night continues with SMIKI & BAMIINA behind the decks. As long-standing HEAVY FEELINGS Residents and core members of the family, they’ll take the energy from the live programme into the aftershow, each bringing their own approach to the dancefloor.
Four years of HEAVY FEELINGS, back at our base. One last gathering before we close out 2026.
