With her debut EP FEAST, DONYA SOLAIMANI brings together the many musical worlds that have shaped her life into a sound that feels entirely her own. Born in Berlin and now based in Cologne, Solaimani weaves elements of minimal music, jazz, and pop with traditional Iranian music and poetry, creating a sonic landscape that is both deeply personal and instantly inviting. Songs like Chahar Pareh and My Brain Is Slow (But My Bike Is Fast) showcase her ability to move effortlessly across geographical and stylistic borders. This is a bold and confident debut—one that marks the arrival of an artist we’ll be hearing from for a long time to come.
For HEAVY FEELINGS, this night is a true full-circle moment. Donya first applied to our open call back in 2023, went on to become part of our lineup, and has since grown into an integral member of the HF family. Adding another layer to this shared journey, HF collective member Mina Amiri collaborated on the video production for Donya’s latest single Chahar Pareh, making this event a celebration of community, continuity, and creative growth.
