HEAVY FEELINGS & REFUGE WORLDWIDE present the COMMON GROUND
For the first time HF & RW collaborating and sharing the booth, the dancefloor and one intention at Open Ground / Annex.
Refuge Worldwide is more than a collaborator to us — it’s a home. Three years ago, HF took its very first steps on their radio waves. What started as a single show grew into 13 broadcasts, residency, friendship, and a shared trust built on listening deeply and moving together. Since then, Heavy Feelings and Refuge Worldwide have evolved side by side — united by the belief in music as a space for connection.
Both Heavy Feelings and Refuge Worldwide operate as independent platforms built outside commercial club and media structures. Their connection is rooted in long-form radio, self-organised events, and a shared commitment to giving space to artists, selectors, and sounds that don’t always fit dominant industry narratives. Refuge Worldwide’s community-driven broadcasting and Heavy Feelings’ niche artist focused platform, research-based approach to DJing meet in a common practice: prioritising context and building continuity.
There’s no better place for this gathering than Open Ground / Annex — a space that mirrors the same values of openness, intention, and deep listening. Expect an rhythm ´n groove driven vinyl selection from PARISSA, producer-led journeys from SMIKI — Heavy Feelings’ in-house producer, DJ, and Protoje.
Alongside eclectic selections by NO PLASTIC, co-founder of Refuge Worldwide, and AFRODISIAC, a Berlin-based DJ and cultural producer of Eritrean descent whose genre-fluid selections draw from the Black Cosmos and the Black Atlantic. All carried by one of the most significant sound systems in Europe.
The Common Ground is where we find each other.
